"Hot Swapping" Batteries

This page will walk you through how to hot swap batteries on PRISM Sky

WARNING: As of January, 2024, we recommend following these steps ONLY if your PRISM Sky is not paired with a DRS-25 Parachute. If you are using a DRS-25, please contact Watts Innovations for more information.

Instructions

  1. Once the first set of batteries are depleted and the aircraft is on the ground and disarmed, unplug one battery and replace it with a new, fully charged battery. Repeat this step for the second battery. It is crucial to do one battery at a time in order for PRISM Sky to stay powered on the whole time.

  2. Go into Advanced mode on AMC (Click the paper airplane in the top left five times)

  3. Click on the paper airplane and click on Vehicle Setup

  4. Scroll down to Parameters.

  5. On the far right, click on Tools and then Reboot Vehicle.

This will reboot just the FMU of the Skynode - preserving any active mission or plan on PRISM Sky, allowing you to pick up where you left off.

  1. Select Reset to confirm.
