Installing SBus Receivers
PRISM Lite can be flown from standard Sbus or PPM RC transmitters. This doc will show you how to install your own.
PRISM Lite is delivered with a Futaba receiver pre-installed. Users may install any SBUS or PPM receiver of their choice following the instructions below.
Tools Required:
Follow the instructions below to install:
1.) Remove front FAD Cover. Two M3x12 button head screws and one M3x6 Phillip thread forming screw must be removed.
2.) Connect the receiver to the SBUS cable present under the cover. Yellow is signal, red is power, brown is ground.
3.) Ensure the receiver communicates with transmitter by following the appropriate pairing procedure noted by the receiver/transmitter manufacturers guidelines.
4.) Remove right grommet from the installed white plastic mount and cut an X shaped hole into it.
5.) Apply 3M double-sided tape to the back of receiver body and attach receiver to the black plate behind the removed FAD cover. Orient the receiver so that the antennas are pointing towards the right. Below is how Watts Innovations installs the Futaba FMR-02 receiver.
6.) Reinstall grommet and pass receiver antennae through the new hole.
7.) Using Loctite 425 to secure the M3x12 button head screws, reinstall FAD Cover to front of PRISM Lite.
8.) It is recommended to point the receiver antennae 90° from each other to achieve optimal signal reception. You can affix them using a standard RC antenna guide.
