Disabling the Serial Enumerator

In some cases, the data being sent from the GPS located inside of IDLink can be misinterpreted by Windows as mouse inputs and this causes issues with GPS data and renders the computer quite difficult to use. This is a bug within Windows (10 and 11) and does not have anything to do with IDLink or the components selected for it. In some cases you might not see any adverse affects, however some symptoms you may note are intermittent GPS data in QGround Control or Mission planner, as well as erratic mouse behavior on the computer itself. Below are steps to solve the above issues if noted. Even if you are not seeing any issues when using IDLink, we recommend following these steps in order to prevent any possible future issues!

Step 1: Open Device Manager and navigate to the Ports (COM & LPT) section.

Step 2: Right click on the USB Serial Port (your COM# may be different from the below example) and click on Properties. Do NOT click on u-blox GNSS Receiver.

Step 3: Click on Port Settings and then Advanced.

Step 4: On the bottom right, uncheck Serial Enumerator. Click OK for all of the open menus and then reboot the computer.
